Hi, I am trying to email a video from a file (by send to) and I get message "No email associated to perform the requested action. Create an association in the default program, in control panel" I have looked but not quite sure what I am expected to do. I have Outlook installed as my email.

Can you enlighten me please. Thank you.

    Hi Silver -

I'm Kevin B. Independent Advisor and a Windows user like you. I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing right now, let me help you sort things out.

It appears that the outlook email app that you're using is not set as you're default email application on your computer. To set the outlook app as you're default email client, please follow the steps below

    Press windows key + I

    Click on Apps

On the left pane menu, click on Default Apps

Under Choose default apps on the right section, click the "Choose a default" under Email

Select/Click on Outlook to set the application as your default app

Once the Outlook App shows on the list, close the settings

Check if you can send an email using the send to option

Hope this will help and have a bless day!

    Thanks.

    Kevin B.

    Hi Silver -

Thanks for the response and I do apologize if the method did not resolve the issue

Just to confirm, what email client are you using to access your email?

Is it Outlook App, Mail or are you using your browser to access your email?

If the Mail & Calendar is set as default on the mail section, the "send to" option will open the application to send the email on your computer but your email should already been setup on Mail & Calendar app in order for it to work. If there is no Microsoft Office installed on your computer which contains outlook app, then windows will not show it on the list when changing default app for your mail client.

    Regards,

    Kevin B.

Hi LemP, I followed your instructions and I can now "Send to mail recipient" from my photos. Although a video clip I also wanted to "Send to mail recipient" does not work I still have same message and having tried different files from my documents they do not "Send to mail recipient.". Should I be associating the files to the email? Sorry to be so thick in understanding this. For your information my "C" drive (SSD) only contains the OS (Win 10 pro) and programs, my files and all other are on "D" drive. (HHD), would this effect file paths? I have not had problems with this setup previously.

Hi Kevin Bart, thankyou for response. I have followed instructions but not successful. By default I have Mail & Calendar app which by definition supports Outlook.com. and should (I presume) work. I looked at outlook app thinking this might help but this is part of Office 365 which I do not have. The only default apps when clicked are Mail or Microsoft Edge. Not sure what to do next.

Have I missed something or is there another setting to adjust??
