While it happened, did you see the desktop? or it was totally white like a faulty screen? is it possible to send an image of it?
Meanwhile, to troubleshoot this kind of issues, kindly do the steps below:
To check that the problem caused by hardware or software, connect the laptop to an External Monitor with VGA or HDMI while it is on a white screen.
-If the External Monitor displays a screen fine, it means there is a hardware issue with the screen.
- It is best to take it to a maintenance shop or return it to the store if its warranty still applicable.
-If the External Monitor displays the white screen as well, it means there is a software issue with the computer.
+When the laptop is on ideal mode, try to update the graphics card driver from the Device Manager or download its driver from the manufacturer's website.
+Run the computer in Safe Mode and check if the issue still persists or not:

+Scan your computer for viruses and malware if any.
+When the laptop is on ideal mode, run CMD as adimistrator and type this command then press enter:
sfc/scannow
It may takes a while, once finish, restart your laptop and check if the issue still persists or not.
+If you are sure it happens after the windows upgrade, use system restore:

+Disconnect any peripherals connected through USB
