Massive lag and computer issues.

About a month or so ago my computer started lagging. Nothing happened, just randomly started. It was so bad that I couldn't even watch Youtube videos or talk with my friends. Even the windows sounds lag when I bring up the control panel. Since then I tried scanning with multiple virus scanners, I've used Ccleaner, I've changed system settings with regedit, changed my file sizing settings, made sure all of my drivers are up to date. I even did a clean install and although after that it is tolerable. I can at the very least watch Youtube and use Discord at the same time. However when I try to play any type of game I experience massive lag. I feel like I've tried everything and I'm at a loss.

Thank you for updating me about this issue.
I apologize that those steps did not resolve the issue.

Maybe someone else in the community has an idea.

As I said, this is a fresh install so all of my drivers should have already been deleted and reinstalled or am I wrong about that? That also takes care of the steps mentioned above. The lag happens in general, it's just not as prominent anymore unless gaming because I deleted everything on the computer. I've went through repair and windows finds nothing and windows is up to date. It's like something in my computer whether software or hardware has started or has died but nothing is failing like I would expect. I simply just can't do anything more than surf the web and stream video or I suffer crazy lag with top of the line components lol.

If you don't have any programs and services that run at startup. I would suggest performing the step 3 and 4 because you are experiencing lag and fps drop when gaming.

I don't have any programs that really even run at start up. I only have like 10 programs installed in general on this computer at the moment. I can try to update the drivers but the fresh install of windows should have fixed that already, no?

My name is Jan, I’m an Independent Advisor. I'll be happy to help. Lags and stuttering can be caused by outdated drivers or background applications. Also, Make sure all drivers and Windows are updated.

    1. Disable unnecessary application programs that are running from the startup.

Press Ctrl + shift + ESC

    Then click on Task Manager

    Then Navigate to Startup Tab

( from there you can Disable unnecessary applications running from the startup)

    1. Perform a Clean Boot to disable unnecessary startup and services.

    1. Try to reinstall or update these device drivers (graphics, audio, BIOS, and chipset). Download them at the Manufacturer's support website and install them.

    For the Nvidia Driver installation

    Select "Perform Clean installation"

    restart your computer once installed.

Or I would also suggest cleaning install the graphics driver using DDU.

    Display Driver Uninstaller

Run the application from Safe mode.

    https://support.microsoft.com//windows/start-yo...

    Select Clean and restart

    Once the drivers are uninstalled

Install the latest Graphics Card driver

    1. This will upgrade and repair your system without losing your files and apps.

Download the Media creation tool here.

    https://www.microsoft.com//software-download/wi...

    Then choose "ISO"

Once it is downloaded click or open the file using the windows explorer

Then open or click "setup" to run.
