SSD's keep getting stuck in write protection with NO way of removing this

I have a problem with my secondary SSD (m.2). It is stuck in a write protection.

Ive had this problem before with my pc and i changed many components thinking they were the problem.

After buying a new SSD and reinstalling windows  the problem was fixed, I could write on the disks again.

But this was only fixed for a week or two.

But now out of the blue the disk is in a write protection again and I have no idea whats causing it.

Ive tried:

- Diskpart -> attribute clear etc.

- Regedit

- Changing the permissions (it wont allow me because its write protected?)

I think it might be my windows being corrupted or something?

My only clue it that its cause by (Ambiguous connection?) I have replaced my motherboard, CPU, RAM)

But this must be something done by software. When I go to DiskManagement I cannot format my disk because it is write protected even though the status is "Healthy" and "Available")

Can anyone please help me pinpointing where it all goes to hell. I've been trying to fix this for over a month now and there is not a single forum with the right solution.

I just want to write on my disks again.

    Hey Dave,

This is also a method ive 've tried already, strangely the StorageDevicePolicies does not exist in my registry.

    See below:

Strangely enough the issue has resolved itself today, but I have no idea why this is.

Yesterday I restarted my computer multiple times.

The question of the Above still remains though. And I'm afraid that every time i start my pc its a coin toss whether or not it will function and if so, for how long, since I have not pinpointed the cause.

    Hey Dave,

A small update, I have had no more issues for a while but I decided to remove Bitlocker encryption. And after formatting my drive it was again stuck in read only. But as long as it is encrypted there seems to be no problem. Seems a bit strange to me.

This solution seems to work but I still think it is strange that even after replacing my motherbord/CPU/Windows the issue remains.

    Hi esauveplanne,

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this.

    1

How old roughly is that SSD drive, and do you sue that drive to store games?

    2

Download the widely available free utility CrystalDiskInfo and run a SMART test on that drive, does that drive pass that test?

    Hi Dave,

Now that I have access to this I will do that. The weird part of this is the inconsistency. Last time this took me over a month and I rebuild part of my build, which was also due, thinking the hardware was the cause. And you are right, there is no reason it should be write protected yet it sometimes remains like that for a period of time. I hope this will fix it for good otherwise I will reopen this conversation if you are willing to help me more.

Thanks for all the time and effort in helping me! you're a great person!

    Hey DaveM121,

No I can remove that freely, I just tried to add it or remove it. Maybe it changed something but nothing.

Could it be that me ssd sees my main ssd with windows as "corrupt" and shuts itself into write protection?

And if so can I remove that? Seems strange that I cant remove something like that on my pc.
