Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard - Number Pad Not Working

The separate keypad on a Sculpt I bought 5 months ago is not working. I have downloaded and installed all relevant drivers. I disconnected and 'forgot' the device on my laptop. I restarted the laptop in between driver install and again after disconnecting the hardware. The mouse and keyboard are working fine. I replaced the battery in the keypad and it worked for a short time but less than a week later I am having the same issue. There is not a way to turn off the keypad other than taking the battery out, but it should not run out of power in a week nonetheless. Please help me resolve this issue or let me know if there is any relevant warranty information.

There doesn't seem to be a hardware option for post location so I hope this can reach the right support team. Thanks for the assistance!

Turn off number lock on your labtop/desktop. It overrides the pad so it wont work.

Hello folks, I came across this issue for one of my clients. I tried all the steps others have posted to resolve, but the issue persisted.

I was able to resolve this for my client by turning off a setting that I found in windows 10 called "Only use mouse keys when Num lock is on" I toggled that setting to off, tested, all is working now.

    Hope this helps

I solved this issue on my hardware.

I just received a brand new desktop set and everything worked except the number pad (thus the reason I found this thread). My keyboard and mouse worked perfectly (both on PC and Mac) but number pad was sporadic. So I removed the battery cover and noticed if you hold the coin battery in place it works. So I knew the "problem" is not SW but that the number pad is simply losing power because the coin battery has a poor connection.

To fix, take the battery cover off and inside the small cavity where the coin battery rests there is a small metal tab that contacts the edge of the coin battery. Remove the battery and take a small tool and pry that tab outward so it interferes better with the battery. Reinsert the battery and cover. Voila! Works perfectly (PC and Mac)!!!

Tried all of that and didn't resolve the issue, I'm an Accountant so I desperately needed the numeric pad.

Also the battery in the mouse was replaced twice over a 3 month period.

In the end I went old school and bought a wired Dell keyboard and mouse, no batteries, no issues, no problem

here's how I resolved my issue/s.  1) replaced all batteries --  2) removed and re-inserted the bluetooth USB; 3) uninstalled both keyboard and mouse from my system (Device Manager); 4) rebooted; 5) Opened Device Manager -- updated software for each of the mouse and the keyboard; 6) re-booted.  It worked.

NOTE:  there is a small round 3 volt battery inside the separate numeric keypad.  Notwithstanding all of the above, standard troubleshooting issues, if I had to guess, the problem was sholly with the 3 volt battery in the numeric kepad itself.

Hope that helps and you are back up and running soon.
