Usb and bluetooth not waorking after latest windows update

Hi, I am having a lot of trouble since the latest windows update. I have noticed several things not working properly anymore:

  • None of my usb ports are working
  • Bluetooth isn't working anymore (it says my computer is unable to use bluetooth when it should be)
  • Laptop doesn't turn on after going into sleep mode. Only way to get it working again is to force shutdown by holding power button

The most important issue for me is the usb issue. I have already spent many hours trying to fix it.

It all started the day after I have done the latest windows update. I noticed that my mouse and keyboard weren't working and found out that the usb ports were the issue. I checked whether the usb drivers were updated and reinstalled them. I also noticed that "USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller" was giving me an error 10 error message (device failed to start, Code 10).

I tried several solutions proposed on different websites but none of them worked so I decided to do a factory reset. I backed up my files on a cloud server and chose the delete everything option. After the reset was complete all of the issues were still there. I then booted into the BIOS and connected my keyboard but it didn't work either. It also didn't recognize any flash drives I plugged in. Again I searched for solutions online and I tried removing the battery of my device and reinserting it 10 minutes later. It initially seemed to have done something because my laptop booted and shut down a couple of times but the issues were still there.

Now I'm out of ideas and I'm not even sure whether its a software issue anymore... The day before I did the windows update everything was working fine... But the usb not working in the bios points to a hardware issue I think. I am by no means an expert on any of this however so please, if you have any suggestions let me know. Maybe there is a way to debug whether its a software or hardware issue?

    Thanks for the reply,

All bluetooth drivers are gone from my device so there is no tab in the device manager to expand. The troubleshooter says my device can't use bluetooth even though I have been able to use bluetooth on my device before. Also have you got any tips on the usb issue for me? Thats certainly the more important one.

    Regards
