Is OneDrive file size limit 100GB or 250GB?

My wife has a 136GB file in a OneDrive folder.  I just tried uploading a large file to OneDrive using the web interface and got an error saying the maximum file size must be less than 100GB.   Are these limits correct for OneDrive on the PC and the OneDrive web interface?

-Thanks

    Hello how are you?

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

My name is Marcelo C., I am an independent consultant, I am here to help you in the best possible way.

If you use Microsoft Edge or a recent version of other popular web browsers, you can upload files to OneDrive up to 250GB in size. If you use an older web browser, the maximum file size is 300 MB.

Notebooks saved to OneDrive are limited to 2 GB.

    Tips:

You can upload files up to 250GB in size if you use the OneDrive app.

To transfer large files or many files, it is recommended to add the files to the OneDrive desktop application instead of using the Upload button on the website.

I hope the information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Have a nice day and stay safe.

I am using the latest version of the Edge browser.  Yet I still received an error when trying to upload a file larger than 100GB.   At least that's what the message indicated.  The file was actually about 320GB, I wonder if the 100GB warning was leftover from the old file size limit?

It may be wrong information on the OneDrive web, as this information is given by microsoft itself on its official website.

For files of this size I strongly recommend that you use the computer application, because using it even if there is a drop in the internet or some undue oscillation it continues to upload even if there is an unforeseen event.

Yes, it is possible to do this:

First check if the drive is in FAT or FAT32 in NTFS

Unlink OneDrive and run OneDrive setup again

You will not lose files or data by disabling, uninstalling, or unlinking OneDrive on your computer. You can always access your files by logging into your OneDrive online account.

Select the white or blue OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar.

OneDrive sync client with blue and white cloud icons

Note: You may need to click the Show hidden icons arrow The Show hidden icons button. , next to the notification area, to see the OneDrive icon. If the icon is not displayed in the notification area, OneDrive may not be running. Select Start, type OneDrive in the search box and select OneDrive in the search results.

Select Help icon and OneDrive settings Help & Settings settings>.

    Click Unlink this PC.

Note: Unlinked files can be safely deleted from local storage, as they are also stored in the cloud and accessible through the OneDrive website.

Follow the steps in the Welcome to OneDrive Wizard to set up OneDrive at the new file location.

The problem is I only have 160GB left on my hard drive.  I could move the OneDrive home to an external disk, but I'd rather not.  I successfully uploaded several 50GB files earlier today.

    Thanks for your advice.
