Cannot unmute my microphone

So I've done lots of research into why no audio was being picked up from my microphone. I've also used the troubleshoot feature to find out what was wrong. This ended up telling me that my device was muted, which I though was strange.

Eventually, I went to microphone properties and to the "levels" tab, with the slider and mute/unmute button. The slider is at 100, but when I click on the button to unmute, nothing happens. Anyone know what's going on? I have the latest updates for windows and my system seems to tell me that the drivers are up to date. I can still listen to things fine but my voice can never be picked up by my computer.

I did as you said, but the microphone was already enabled. I tried disabling then enabling it again, but it didn't do anything. I checked the properties like before and I still can't unmute the microphone either.

    Thanks for helping me out
