PS4 Controllers not working on pc

When I plug in either one of my two PS4 controllers to my pc to play games, the bar flashes orange to indicate they're charging but the controllers do not give any input into the pc. I have tried on multiple games and tests online. The controllers do get recognised as devices, but do not give input. The controllers do work on the PS4 and were working previously today. issue started after a windows update but since removing said update issue has still persisted. Controllers are charged/charging but yet give no input. On some occasions the controllers act as speakers but still give no input to the pc. Issue is not fixed when connected wirelessly or wired.

Help please?

I Have the same issue; I believe it's related to the latest update applied by Microsoft,
there's no issues in the drivers, connect everything you want, even PS5 controller, but the PS4 one is not being detected as a controller at all, when connected as a USB, it's suddenly a "sound device".
When connected as Bluetooth, it's a Wireless controller , but with no functionality.

Any controller will work, except PS4 one, and I can assure you that deleting the drivers and devices won't work .

so kindly fix this issue the soonest possible.

Sadly enough, there's no way around this issue except a system reset using recovery disk/usb.

I've done the same and it's working now.

Don't waste your time waiting, unfortunately I believe no one is  able to help.

DS4windows doesn't pick up either of my controllers plugged in or wirelessly. I checked my drivers too and they're all up to date

Your issue perfectly describes mine and funnily enough occurred right after i updated windows . when i plug it in via usb it detects as a sound device and bluetooth allows it to connect but not input whatsoever. I tried to uninstall the latest updates but was unable to do so.

    Hi Sl1meball,

Try using DS4Windows: http://ds4windows.com/It allows you to use DualShock 4 controllers with Windows, I use it and it works very well.

Let me know if it helps!
