Losing my mind. Computer guru I am not, but I have some VR and 3D stuff and need to utilize GEFORCE, but Windows OS is controlling my displays and I just can't figure out how to switch.

    Hi Devila,

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this.

Some PC's and laptops allow you to turn off the Integrated Intel UHD graphics option in BIOS, so that only the Nvidia graphics are used, check if you have that option in BIOS.

Nvidia no longer provide the Optimus function that allows you to disable the Intel UHD graphics form the Nvidia Control Panel, here are two more options.

    1

Open the Settings App, then go to System - Display

Click 'Graphics Settings at the bottom of that page.

There, you can add apps and set them to only run on the Nvidia graphics card.

    2

Create a Desktop icon for an App

Right click that Desktop icon and on the resulting menu, you can set the Graphics Processor to use for that app.

    Hi Devila,

There is no way to switch devices on the PCI bus, that is set, the Intel UHD graphics are located on your Intel Processor, and the Nvidia graphics are located on the motherboard, they cannot be swapped around.

    Oh... 😒

Yeah, I  knew they couldn't physically. I  thought  maybe I could bend the circuit through the silicon  by changing the address.

I need to read up a lil bit about all  those pesky details.....PCI, GUID,  nodes, keys, ranks....most  of  it's in English and still makes no sense.

    Thx again.
