I am using dell inspiron 155000 i7 laptop .

I have a preinstalled  Mcafee antivirus and usually do a full scan once a month.

Recently i observed some problems in my pc they are;

1.Full scan from Mcafee uses cpu upto 100% and speed over 3.00ghz consistently unlike previously cpu at 1ghz-2ghz(same usage for windows build in full virus scan)

  1. huge cpu spike upto 100% when opening program and comes to normal
  2. Some service host processors like NoNetworkFirewall,NetworkRestricted in ram that i havn't seen before

4.a process called Microsoft compatibility telemetry uses more cpu

PLEASE GIVE A SOLUTION BEFORE THINGS GET WORST!!!

    Hi,

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    I understand that you’re facing issues with High CPU usage on your PC after installing Windows Updates. I will certainly try my best to assist you with the issue.

    One of the things that you can do is to right click on the process and click on Properties to check which application is associated to that process.

    Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try booting the PC in Clean Boot and see if the CPU usage is normal. Refer the article How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    Performing a clean boot will start the computer with minimal set of drivers and programs, to determine whether a background program is causing the issue. Some of the Startup programs will not load after performing a clean boot on the computer. However, that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after finishing the troubleshooting.

    If the CPU usage is not high after performing Clean Boot, then please refer the section How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean bootto identify the root cause of the issue.

    Note: Please refer the sectionReset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshootingto boot the computer in to normal mode after troubleshooting

    Let us know if you need any further assistance, we will be glad to assist you.

    Regards,

    Prakhar Khare
