    Basically, people

If you tried everything and it didn't work, leave as it is for a month (pause/schedule the updates)

The succeeding updates usually get the problem fixed

    Hello how are you?

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

1-Restart the computer and continue pressing the F8 or Shift + F8 key; the advanced boot screen will open in front of you.

2- Now select "Choose an option" and choose the "Solve problems" option, then go to "Advanced options" and press the number corresponding to Safe mode.

3- After booting the system in safe mode, open the command prompt and run these commands

    net stop wuauserv

4- Now you need to go to a mass distribution and delete your content. Go to the next path to find a mass distribution.

    C: Windows SoftwareDistribution
Delete all files and subfolders in this folder.

Now restart your computer and the updates could not be completed. Undo changes, do not turn off the computer in Windows 10 will be fixed.

Try the steps above in safe mode.

If it doesn't work, try the solutions below:

If you have an antivirus installed or more than one, I suggest you uninstall it through the Control Panel under the Programs and Features icon or temporarily disable it through the antivirus settings itself.

Note: Many antiviruses have their own removal tool. Visit the Installed Software website for more information. Your system will not be left unprotected because Windows has its own security system that automatically enables it as soon as you restart your computer.

    Perform troubleshooting:

1- Go to search, type in troubleshooting and open troubleshooting.
2- Select Show all in the left panel.
3- Open Windows Update and follow further instructions.
4- Restart your computer and try to install the update again.

    Hide Windows update

1- Open the Control Panel and click the Windows Update icon.
2- After Windows updates or you check for updates, click link ... update (s) is available.
3- Right-click on a listed Windows Update that you want to hide, then click Hide Update.
4- If prompted by UAC, then click Yes or enter the administrator password.
5- You will now notice that the Windows Update eyepiece is grayed out. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to hide another Windows Update. When finished, click / tap OK.

    I await news.

    Hello, Luciano

Sorry, but I already tried deleting SoftwareDistribution (the third item on my little list above).

Quoting myself (don't mean to be rude):

    • Delete SoftwareDistribution

    DONE

Deleted the whole folder many times, actually. Rebooting after all the attempts.

Would deleting the folder in Safe Mode change the result ?

I had no trouble deleting in normal mode. All I had to do was stop bits and wuauserv

I got the issue solved by a simple procedure

    1. Go to windows update menu in settings and pause the updates for 7 days .

    2. Type "services" in search bar and run it with admin privileges.

    3. Select " app readiness " services and enable it . See to it that windows update and its medication services are also enabled .

    4. Open Run tab and type Software Distribution

    5. Delete all files in that folder permanently.

    6. Now go back to update menu and click resume updates .

    7. Let it check for pending updates and finally install them as usually as everybody does. ( Update and Restart in Power Button )

    Hope it works 👍👍

    It worked !

Don't know how or why, but deleting SoftwareDistribution in safe mode made a difference.

    THOUGH:

    • The update ran much faster than before. Too fast to believe it went succesfully.
    • The KB5001330/20H2 was supposed to fix a broken Explorer Search bar and Explorer demanding too many resources. The search bar is NOT fixed. I didn't keep track of the consumption, but explorer related tasks seemed slower since the previous update.
