I also had the same or may be similar problem. It was really annoying and wadter uncountable precious hours. Wifi not found and yellow triangle on device manager. Not finding Wifi adapter too. But could always connect using USB tethering using phone. Ensured that problem is not in Router. Using ASUS TUF FX505DT with Windows10Basic(genuine) which came alreasy with laptop. Was working fine from last 2 years but from 2-3 months having this problem. May be because of windows update breaking wireless's driver.
Tried lot of solutions like-
- Disable/Enable device from device manager
- Uninstalling device.
- Unchecking VirtualBox bridged network driver from Wi-Fi properties.
- Uninstalling applications which install their own driver like TeamViewer, CiscoConnect, RSAkey, etc.
etc but not help.
Then tried below solutions and it helped after restarting system after these steps but only for 2-3min and then again wifi missing.
netsh interface set interface name="Wi-Fi" admin=disabled
netsh interface set interface name="Wi-Fi" admin=enabled
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
arp -d *
nbtstat -R
nbtstat -RR
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
This solution stopped working too after I resinstalled network drivers from Snappy software.
Finally worked by-
- Shutdown system and disconnect any power source
- Press and hold power button for 60seconds minimum to discharge motherboard's static charge. Flashes will appear after every 4-5seconds and that's normal in inbuilt rgb keyboard.
- Start computer and toggle run>services.msc>WLAN config to automatic.
- No need of restart, Wifi appears.
Posting this answer just after trying it. Will edit this answer if wifi again shows issue for me.
Edit1: Issue again occurred and is blocker for me. It really is pissing me off. No solution. Microsoft or ASUS should look into it at highest priority.
