Hello!

I have a HP laptop and i have an issue. Everything worked normally fine for more than a year then i spilt some water on keyboard of the laptop but immediately wiped all the water off and removed the keys to wipe out the water that remaind there. Now i have an issue. My keyboard is doing random things for example when i press R in google chrome to type it reloads the page and when i scroll my mouse wheel it zooms in or out and doesnt scroll down or up like its supposed to. I didnt change any settings. And windows randomly freezes when i want to type in my password or type something in the search bar it just doesn’t let me access it but i can open other apps. When i press for example the W key on keyboard while trying to type somewhere it closes the app. Please help

Its gettng very annoying

Oh btw windows keeps freezing then it doesnt open apps

I tried everything but then i found the issue and it is in actual keyboard because the ctrl button broke and it held down itself so this is why everything was strange

It's a good thing that Keyboard is not faulty.

Anyway, please try the troubleshooting methods below.

    1. Install the latest Windows updates
    2. Run Keyboard Troubleshooter

Open Settings => Update & Security => Troubleshoot => Keyboard => Run the Troubleshooter.

    1. Uninstall the keyboard and mouse Driver then restart the PC. Windows will automatically install the driver.
    2. Use System File Checker to check and fix corrupted system files that may be the cause of the issue. Please refer to the link.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/402652...

    1. Run a Windows Defender Scan to check for malware or virus that might be causing the issue.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

    Hi RokDolinar,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Since you mentioned that the keyboard got spilled with some water then it might be already faulty.

I will first suggest that you test the keyboard with a keyboard Tester to confirm that it's not spamming or ghost typing.

    Go to the link below.

    https://www.keyboardtester.com/

See if there are keys that will be highlighted with green color.

    Let me know the result.

    Thanks.
