I purchased windows 10 pro from microsoft store but don't know whether it will be delivered by mail or via download. What is their usual procedure?

Did you purchase an upgrade from Home to Pro or a full license?
For an upgrade pack, the license is tied to your Microsoft Account and does not require a product key.
For purchases from https://store.microsoft.com, you would get an email with the product key.
