File corruption audio and video files showing 32kb file size of some
Thank you everyone,
I have tried to search help on this file corruption but get no fix. So I'm sorry if this has been asked before. Some of my video and audio files are corrupted, They show them as 32KB. Some of these corrupted video files are of my missions in Iraq that I took, they were not corrupted at one time. I cannot pin point a time it happened as I was going through some and saw the heart breaking damage. Audio files are whole albums purchased from Itunes that one time were fine. I have tried many ways to convert these files, or get information but I just can't find anything through google search. Any suggestions please. I have scanned for virus and find nothing.

2021-07-19T13:11:56+00:00 Unfortunately seems the files were truncated some time ago and there will not be possible to recover them. If there were no new writes to this disk, some files may be recovered but this will be long and scrupulous work.
One should use a backup of these files but seems you do not have a backup.
You may ask a help from data recovering company but this is expensive and does not give warranty od success.
Sorry for bad news, hope you will not decapitate me.

Mr. Leyko
Thank you very much for your reply. I ran chkdsk from dos in safe mode, and after some time, just now finished with nothing to report. The drive is good, and that's good to know. I had check my drive but from windows. I have also ran all maleware and virus scans with nothing to report. I ran windows securtiy check as well nothing.
Audio Files: My audio files that were played on ITunes was the first to go. Not all of them just under a quarter of the music got corrupted and randomly. A song from this artist, a whole album from another artist and so on. and not in a row of albums, again randomly. All audio files show the name of album, or song title but they show this below.
Type of file: File
Size: 32.0 KB (32,768 bytes)
Size on disk: 32.0 KB (32,768 bytes)
Video Files: Now the video files are something new. They have been associated as a Goove music player format. I can play the video and hear me talking about some small arms fire (Rolling into Ramadi ECP) and can hear the truck running, but the video is cut off short. Again, not all the videos just 15 our of the 2,700 or so that I have. Rest play just fine.
Type of file: Type of file: WAV File (.WAV)
Opens with: Groove Music
Size: 31.4 KB (32,226 bytes)
Size on disk: 32.0 KB (32,768 bytes)
I have been moving files around to organize photos and videos so that may explain the video files being corrupt. but the videos have that same file size as the audio file corruption but with one small exception. Size of file showing 31,4 KB and size on disk is the 32,00 kb
Sorry for too wordy, I will trim down my next response.
Thank you, SIR

Did you or Windows itself check drive for errors and repair them?
Please run chkdsk /scan command and see if it will find some errors. Correct drive letter if your files are at another disk.
If these files were truncated long ago due to disk or system faults, the chances of restoration are low. You may look for data recovering compamy near you but this will be expensive.
