Install driver for old graphics card Radeon HD 3000 (8.970.100.9001) in Win 10 in 2021 to use 2 monitor devices

Hello!

Due to some turbulences I have to get a ~5 year old Desktop-PC running with 2 monitors, which only has a onboard graphic chip, a Radeon HD 3000.

AMD says

Driver support for these products under Windows® 8.1 and Windows® 10 is only available via Windows Update. Please enable Windows Update to allow it to automatically detect and install display driver version 8.970.100.9001

Which I did, but I got a Microsoft Basic Display Driver with version nr 10.00.19041.0868.

And only one monitor detects, and 1080p are still not supported.

How/where do I get the correct driver/how do I install it?

Is there another way to use 2 displays?

Thanks in advance.

    >>Is your suggestion, I just install the Win8-drivers provided by AMD?

Exactly. I had a model in my office with the same config - I had to use an external GPU to scale up to 1920. It wasn't offering 1920 even with Windows 8 drivers(only up to 1366)

The highest Gigabyte provides is Windows 7 though.

    Hi The,

I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.

Does Windows update find an updated driver? I believe the 7/8 driver should work in Windows 10.

Windows update found and installed the mentioned driver, however still no possibility to use 2 montors and/or use 1080p.

Is your suggestion, I just install the Win8-drivers provided by AMD?
