I just formatted my computer, but something happens to me that I don't know if it happens to others , I have certain files in the local temp folder called BIT (number and letter mixed) and they are .tmp files for example BITFB7A.tmp, I realized that they are files that are hidden This is followed by wct files with mixed letter and number similar to BIT files. I wonder if they are Microsoft update files or not, and if not, can you tell me clearly what they are, please? , I am scared when I see things that I do not understand on my computer equipment and sometimes I can be a little paranoid, can you tell me what those files are, please?

    Hi OMARVAZQUEZ7 -

I'm Kevin B., I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing right now, let me help you sort things out.

TMP files are temporary files or cache automatically created by a software program installed on the computer. These files are being used by any software on the computer as temporary files for the software to work properly when launched or being used. It is sometimes created invincibly on the computer and is usually removed or deleted once the program is closed.

There are some instances where a TMP file is retained on the computer system and which can be deleted manually by the user if its consuming a large amount of space on the computer.

You can run a disk cleanup tool to removed any temporary files on the computer that windows no longer uses. This will improve windows performance and at the same time it will free up some space on the computer.
