Sorry, my mistake. The links I have is Links 2001. I loaded the full program on windows 10. Won't play. I then tried to run it in compatibility mode - won't run Message that comes up is " Links 2001 can't verify your disk "...... If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. In my late 60's would like to play some golf on P.C. - Its microsoft software - a person would assume it would run on a current windows platform, wow................. stay well all.
How to load/play my " Links 2000 LS " circa 1999 on my windows 10 Desktop.
Hello all, I'm a senior with limited recent computer knowledge. Could someone please explain to me how I can get my old " Links 2000 LS " circa 1999 to run on my windows 10 desktop? Please give me simple steps if it can be done. Thanks a bunch.

2021-08-28T15:59:38+00:00 Bob, I'm sorry if I didn't point out but I was hoping you'd notice that many of the suggestions I gave you for alternative golf games are free.
For more best free PC golf games see here:

Some of them are online so you don't even need to install them, if you have a fast enough connection. But there's at least a dozen free golf games there to try and choose from.

2021-08-27T23:50:57+00:00 Robert, a 2001 game in computer years is 200 years old. I would not expect anything that old to any longer run even in Compatbility Mode.. The basic architecture of Windows (kernel) has changed several times since then.
I did find some other popular golf games that will run on Windows 10 for you to try:

I hope it helps.

2021-08-28T14:37:38+00:00 Thanks again for the quick reply. Just thought I missed something crucial by not pointing out - I'm a senior on a low fixed income and don't have a NEW state of the art desktop. I suppose few even use desktops anymore, sigh. But, getting back to my desktop - I am the second owner and it is a Dell Optiplex 7010. It runs windows 10 but isn't a powerhouse. Here are some parameters - Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GH, 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, with 8 GB or RAM. So I guess I'm " out in the cold " so to speak. Thanks for all of your suggestions and stay well. Bob - - No p.c. golf for me-back to politics online and t.v. offline.

2021-08-25T23:59:51+00:00 Hi Robert. I'm Greg, a Volunteer Moderator and 10 years Windows MVP here to help you.
If it's the same game as here, it says it can run in WIndows 10:
https://gamefabrique.com/games/links-ls-2000/.
If the installer you have doesn't work then I'd download it from the above link which claims it works in WIndows 10.
If not then try installing and running it in Compatibility Mode, explained here:
https://www.groovypost.com/howto/run-old-softwa...
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
