Install Windows store game from a file downloaded from a different place

Not everyone has access to highspeed internet. I would like to download a game I originally purchased for Xbox on my PC now that I have a good PC and own the PC version of the game. The kicker is the game is 117 GB and on my amazing 1 Mb internet it would take a about a week to download. I had it going and then paused it to do some stuff on the internet, but when I resumed it, it failed to resume and just restated. RIP 2 days of downloading.

Is it possible to download the game on an external drive at work or a friend's and then transfer it to my gaming PC or install it from a downloaded file onto my gaming PC.

I really wish Microsoft would remember those who don't have access to reliable highspeed internet and put more controls and options for us stuck in the dark ages.

Hi, my name is Claudeir. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

Unfortunately there is no safe way to do this, because if Microsoft ''facilitated'' this type of action, piracy would be very big, I hope you understand.

I believe there is no reason for you to ''blame'' Microsoft, I know this can be frustrating and I understand you, however, technology advances every day, laptops and cell phones will become obsolete over time, and the same happens with internet speed, unfortunately 1MB of speed is not enough for today.

I would suggest to you to limit your bandwidth during the download, not to consume all your internet, however 1 MB is very little, if limited it will take a long time, maybe even 1 month to finish your download, not to mention for the rest of things trying to use the internet will be very slow.

The most sensible suggestion in your case would be to purchase an internet plan with a higher download speed.

If the answer helped in any way, please consider leaving your opinion, marking it as answered or leaving more details so that we can continue the service, this is very important to us.

    Sincerely,

    Claudeir

    Doom,

First off you are dead wrong. I am downloading ARK, which has a single player component. Furthermore I have played ARK multiplayer from my house on my current ISP when it was a lot lower quality of an internet connection, so NO, they do not require higher than 1Mbps to play.

It it not my ISP's faulty that the MS Store's pause download did not function correctly. It is not my ISP's fault that I cannot download and transfer files from one computer to another even as an admin on both computers. It is not my ISP's fault that WUDO, which specifically states that it is intended aid in downloading MS Store Apps for people with poor internet, is not operating as intended. All 3 of these are Windows issues which is Microsoft's problem.

Your post, that was made in ignorance, was not productive and I personally find it offensive to those of us who do not have access to reliable highspeed internet at home. I am glad to see Microsoft taking steps to include features in their products for those in the US without access to highspeed internet, unfortunately they don't always work as intended.

TL;DR -- If you don't have something productive to day or don't know what you are talking about, don't interrupt a productive thread.

The machine from where you're copying the file is a part of any organization or is it owned by a person?
