Is 8 GB of RAM and a 256 SSD enough for internet use,, email, and Word docs, but no gaming or Photoshop?

The amount of RAM and disk space you have is immaterial for internet use or email. By itself Microsoft Word doesn't require a lot of RAM - you have more than enough. The amount of disk space Microsoft Word uses depends entirely on the size of your documents.

8 GB of RAM is perfectly good.

But wait: You need to know whether you have a 32-bit or a 64-bit computer. A 32-bit computer can use a maximum of 4 GB of RAM. If you want to use more than 4 GB of RAM, you'll need to have a 64-bit computer.

I didn’t state my question clearly. I don’t do any gaming and I don’t use Photoshop or any other programs that use a lot of RAM. All I do is surf the Internet, send and receive email and use Word for docs. I read that Windows 10 uses 2GB, so I was wondering if 8 GB of RAM and a 256 SSD would be enough for my use.

Most games will also run fine with 8GB of memory, but for that matter a good GPU is also recommended.

So, if I don’t use Photoshop or any other program which uses a lot of RAM and my other usage is immaterial, 8 GB of RAM should be sufficient? (I read that Windows 10 uses 2 GB of RAM.)
