Hello I'm trying to unintall Risk 2 the game on disk even though no files of it exist on my PC trust me i've looked and I get the above subject message when I use the unistall button on the menu used on the disk.

I have tried all of these methods and none worked:

Method 1: Run DISM

The DISM may help you to fix some Windows corruption errors. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the Start Menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Run this command: DISM.EXE /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  3. If the operation is completed successfully, close the command prompt and check if your issue has been fixed.

Method 2: Run System File Checker

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the Start Menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Run this command: SFC /scannow
  3. This may take several minutes to finish. If Command Prompt showsVerification 100% complete, close the command prompt and check if your issue has been fixed.

Method 3: Performing a Clean Boot

A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program.  ****You may also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your PC with an account with administrator rights.
  2. On theSearch box, typemsconfig and press Enter.
  3. On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click Disable all.
  4. On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.
  5. On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click Disable.
  6. Uninstall the program while you are running in a clean boot.

    Hi michaelm-s

Okay, thankyou for that screenshot, that just seems to indicate the dll does not exist which is true if you manually deleted those files, what is your ultimate goal, is that to re-install that game and you are being blocked by the previous installation?

Yes I am trying to unistall a game that technically has no file that I can find on my PC when I run the installer VIA the disk all I get is an uninstall button and when pressed provides the mentioned error.

I deleted and I belive I also uninstalled before hand but I didn't use the games unistall button at the time I did this I think it caused an error

    Hi michaelm-s

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

You indicate you are trying to uninstall a game, even though no files belonging to that game exists on your drive, is that correct?

If so, where exactly are you seeing references to that game on your PC and is that causing problems on your PC?

When you say there are no files pertaining to that game on your hard drive, did you previously uninstall that game or delete those files?
