Cannot screen record - This PC doesn't meet the hardware requirements for recording clips.

Hello,

Screen record does not work on my sons computer. When attempting, we get the following error:

"This PC doesn't meet the hardware requirements for recording clips".

I find this odd as the PC has the following specs:

Windows 10 - version 21H1 OS build 19043.1083

i7-4770 @ 3.4Ghz

16GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030

  • All drivers and windows updates are installed to the latest versions.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the PC exceeds the minimum requirements.

What could be wrong? I've also checked the accounts settings/restrictions in Microsoft Family, nothing appears to be blocking screen record.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Harry

My name is Jan, I’m an Independent Advisor. Most likely caused by the graphics drivers. Try reinstalling the Intel and Nvidia graphics drivers.

Download the latest Intel ( i7-4770 - Intel HD Graphics 4600) and Nvidia (GT 1030) graphics driver from the manufacturer support website and install them.

For the Nvidia driver select "perform clean installation"

    once installed restart your computer.

I also recommend using this tool to update all Intel drivers.

    Hi Harry

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this.

On the System Requirements page for capturing in Windows 10, it indicates the Nvidia card must support NVENC

    https://support.xbox.com/en-IE/help/friends-soc...

I checked the support page for the NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030, it does not support NVENC, it is only the Nvidia GTX cards that support that

    Hi mate,

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately this didn't resolve the problem.

I uninstalled and reinstalled display drivers, nothing, same version installed. Check windows update, they're all up to date.

I also checked the minimum requirements, the PC exceeds all the requirements. I don't understand what's causing this.

    Appreciate your help.
