Hi, I've recently run an icacls command prompt, icacls %windir%\system32\config\*.* /inheritance:e as a workaround for the SeriousSam exploit. How do I reset or revert back the icacls default permissions to administrator rights?

Hi Ecce. I'm Greg, an Independent Advisor, Volunteer Moderator and 10 year Windows MVP here to help you.

See how to set the ICACLS permissions back to default:

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
