    Hey Rob,

    Thanks again for all of the good info.

    So far I have reseated everything. I had to go back to a restore point, but things are stable(ish) so far. I think some of the Windows updates may destabilize things; not sure if that is Windows or that my hardware is crashing because it is not good enough to take the updates.

    I will continue working to get this resolved, and keep you posted and consult with you as necessary.

    Thanks again,

    -GioR1

    The 5 DMP files were 2 each 1A and EF and 1 each 124 (also the memory.dmp) - the most common cause of all of them is a hardware issue.

    Yes, this could be damaged/failing hardware and the GPU is not likely to be the cause though that is certainly still possible.

    Any overheating of the CPU would be very consistent with this issue (or a motherboard, PSU, or other hardware problem causing the CPU to overheat).

    Re-installing Windows Clean would be a valuable tool because if it does not help to resolve the issue then that points even more to a hardware cause.

    You definitely need to reseat everything. A loose or slightly corroded contact (very prevalent on new equipment) could be the cause and it is BY FAR the most common cause of these issues on home builds.

    Chasing hardware issues on a home build can be very problematic due to the lack of known good parts to swap in and out as well as none of the metering equipment available to the device makers and some computer shops.

    Be sure to contact ASUS and the other major device makers for diagnostics help and possible RMAs'.

    BiosVersion = 3601

    SystemManufacturer = ASUS

    BaseBoardManufacturer = ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.

    BaseBoardProduct = ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO (WI-FI)

    Check with BOTH Asus and AMD for even newer chipset drivers!

    1. Try ALL the methods above and in my previous post.
    2. Try reducing the system down to as simple as possible and see if that helps.

    Hello Rob,

    Firstly, thanks a million for being so amazingly thorough. I am an A+ certified technician that builds his own computers (badly, maybe? 😄 ). I have processed the files you requested along with those provided by the MTB software. Here is the OneDrive link, please review (Is there anything you can point me to that could help me analyze these readings?):

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlX0DJo4tWM6-xH7CBvDf_2ulJkY?e=Bb9W0n

    I am breaking my head over this; perhaps it is a good idea to re-seat and re-plug everything in my build. I simply want to determine the hardware issue to apply an appropriate solution.

    Could this potentially be damaged hardware? I pray to all that is good and holy it is not my GPU, that is one of the hardest things to replace right now!

    I had downloaded Ryzen Master only to keep track of my CPU's temp, as before I would get sudden crashes with a BIOS screen advising it was the CPU temp. That prompted me to remove the heatsink and fan assembly, and reapply the compound (although the compound had seemed fine after I took everything apart).

    You reinforced the idea of resetting the BIOS back to its original state. I may even do a complete wipe of the OS along with it, hoping this will help.

    Thanks again,

    Gio_R

    Hi GioR1, I am Rob, an Independent Advisor not affiliated with Microsoft and a 15 time and dual award Microsoft MVP specializing in Windows troubleshooting and Bluescreen analysis. Please remember as independents we are not responsible for the development of Windows or the computer hardware and drivers. If you will work with me I will be here to help until the issue is resolved.

    That is very often a hardware issue. Of course, you can't fix hardware with software methods.

    First - Disable Fast Startup to see if that clears it.

    Start - Settings - System - Power & Sleep - on right under "Related settings" -

    Click "Additional power settings" - Click "Choose what the power settings do".

    Click "Change settings that are currently unavailable" - uncheck "Turn on fast startup" - Save changes.

    Could be heat-related - try using a box or floor fan blowing on high onto the motherboard's CPU & GPU areas to see if that helps. Does it just act like it loses power or does it shut down in a normal manner? Heat-related does not always mean too much heat as it is very possible that a single resistor, capacitor, transistor, or etc. is just too sensitive to even normal levels of heat.

    Remove ALL power and re-seat all cards, memory, and cables (both ends when possible) - actually remove and replace - do not just snug. Remove the dust bunnies and clean the vents. Check that the fans work (before and after opening the case). If a laptop about all you can do is re-seat the memory and clean the vents (still can try adding a small fan as a test).

    Check the processor seating, heat sink, and the compound between the processor

    and the heat sink which are common causes.

    This sounds like hardware so if the above does not help then you probably need the help of a real computer shop (one that does its own in-shop service) or the System Maker's Support.

    ==================================================

    Go here and download this tool - check ONLY these Boxes --> "Last 10 Event Viewer errors" AND check the "List Devices" with option "ALL" checked. <-- Please do this exactly using those settings!

    MiniToolBox - Free https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/minit... Running the tool will open a readout in NotePad - on the top left menu select "File" - "Save As" ( CTRL + SHIFT +S) - name it what you will, in the folder you wish. and upload the file as you do the minidumps (see below) and paste the link in a reply in this thread.

    Troubleshoot blue screen errors <-- read this link

    Look in C:\Windows for memory.dmp and in C:\Windows\minidump for xxxxxxxxx.dmp files.

    We can analyze the DMP files if you make them available from the OneDrive or other file sharing sites (such as MediaFire). If you have problems uploading the minidumps copy them to the Desktop or the Documents folder and upload them from there.

    One-Drive - Share files and folders and change permissions

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/sha...

    Upload photos and files

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/add...

    Zip or RAR the files then upload them - the Memory.DMP individually and/or minidumps up to the last 5 altogether.

    Use OneDrive to upload collected files

    ====================================================

    A. Are you overclocking anything? If so STOP! OC can not only cause BSOD it can make troubleshooting virtually impossible.

    B. Have you installed any performance or OC software such as MSI Afterburner, AMDRyzenMaster. Intel's Extreme Tuning or Performance Maximizer, or CPU-Z? Some of those and others change system settings during installation which are still in effect even when the program is not running. Even iCUE or other RGB hardware and/or software may be involved.

    C. After both A. & B. reset the BIOS back to the system/motherboard maker's recommendations.

    D. Be sure the SSD's have the latest firmware from their makers.

    E. Try removing and reseating all cards, memory, and cables (both ends when possible) - actually remove and replace - do not just snug (on a PC) and clean out the dust bunnies and vents. (Of course remove ALL power prior to opening the case.) <-- Please do this as it is the number one cause of the issues you are experiencing (by far).

    F. Try adding a fan blowing on high onto the motherboard's CPU & GPU areas. The point is to increase airflow to maximize heat dissipation. <-- Please do this no matter how much cooling you have now.

    ====================================================

    Please note that consumer-level troubleshooting software rarely specifies a particular piece of hardware so a lot of close observation is required.

    Running PassMark Burnin Test (Free Trial), OCCT for Home Use (Free), and the Stress Tests may help indicate a cause.

    PassMark Burnin Test - Free Trial - note the trial version will only run for 15 minutes and it really needs to be used for many hours. So if you use this you will need to faithfully and quickly restart it every 15 minutes.

    PassMark - BurninTest - Free Trial

    https://www.passmark.com/products/burnintest/

    OCCT - Free for Home use

    Running Stress Tests might help indicate a cause - use ALL of these.
