Hey everyone,

I have a windows (NuVision 8-inch Full HD Windows 10 Signature Edition)Tablet. I can’t use the touch screen of my tablet so I used a OCG cable to attach a physical keyboard to sign in/enter my login info. I was wondering if anyone could help me fix the screen problem or if anyone know any place to bring the boot options (to reinstall the is windows using media creation tool).

Thanks in advance

I understood you used a keyboard to log in, but not that it won't work for anything else which was not mentioned and the reason I gave you a bunch of steps that required a keyboard.

What happens when you try to trigger Factory Recovery using the steps here I've now asked you about twice: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

Yes, I forgot to mention but I used a physical keyboard to enter my login info. Sure I will send message to Richard as well and will let you know if everything works out cause I’m still struggling with bringing the boot options when turning my tablet on. Thanks again

You did not say in your first post that all you can do is sign in with the USB adapter keyboard, so I gave you steps which assume you have a keyboard and mouse.

I also gave you how to do a Factory Reset on the PC, why was there no reply to this which is obviously your best bet and next thing that should be tried?

See here detailed steps for how to Clean Install Windows 10 to a NuVision tablet using Mini-USB adapter hub:

If you need further help with the tutorial you can contact MVP Richard Hay in the Comments section there. Tell him Greg Carmack sent you from the Microsoft Community.

Keep me posted on your progress as I will be here to help until the case is resolved.

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for your reply. I can’t do any of the options you told me. I used a physical keyboard using a OCG cable to enter my password and when I log in, I can’t do anything else. My touch screen is not working. I tried to the the clean reinstallation, but unfortunately it’s not bringing the boot options for me. I tried pressing F7, F3, F9, F11 and Delete button but they didn’t bring the boot options. I think my only chance is to reinstall the windows using media creation tool, but if I figure out how to bring the boot options.

I would appreciate any help with this.

    Thanks again

Hi Yo. I'm Greg, a Volunteer Moderator and 10 years Windows MVP here to help you.

    1. Try all fixes which are working for Touchscreen here:

    https://www.urtech.ca/2018/09/solved-the-ultima...

    https://www.groovypost.com/howto/fix-unresponsi...

    https://support.hp.com/lt-en/document/c03488148

    1. HID Compliant touch screen driver cannot be found after reinstall or updates is a known issue with fixes here:

    https://www.majorgeeks.com/content/page/hid_com...

    https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/...

https://appuals.com/hid-compliant-touch-screen-... (Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Restoro and Reimage ads)

    1. If nothing above helps then Update the Display driver from the PC or Display adapter maker's Support Downloads web page for your exact model number, HP Serial Number or Dell Service Tag - from the sticker on the PC.

While there check also for newer chipset, BIOS/UEFI firmware (very important), network, sound, USB3 and other drivers, comparing to the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu.

Also find and install the latest touch drivers for your model, even if they are current. If that doesn't help then right click touch device to Uninstall, restart PC to reinstall. Each manufacturer has a different name for these touch drivers which are explained in the links at top, but also can be found for your model by googling the "full make and model + Touchscreen driver" or reporting it back here so I can find it for you.

If this doesn't give you the latest or ideal driver for what you need, compare it to the driver offered by the Intel driver update Utility here: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/...

or the Nvidia Update utility here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=e...

or the AMD autodect utility here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/P...

For Display issues one fix that is working is to Roll back or Uninstall the Driver on the Display Device > Driver tab, restart PC to reinstall driver.

You can also try older drivers in Device Manager > Display device > Driver tab > Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick.

Then you will know you've tried everything in addition to Windows Update drivers.

    1. Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

    1. If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, and is also the most stable method to advance to the latest version. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

You asked about doing a Clean Install. Do you have any USB ports on the tablet? Some with mini-USB's ports have successfully booted USB media created by the Media Creation Tool by using an adapter from USB to mini-USB.

Have you tried doing a Factory Reset described here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

I would have the USB install option figured out first, because Resets can and do fail if the onboard installation files are corrupted.

Look over the steps for a gold standard Clean Install in this link which compiles the best possible Install of Windows which will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given, has zero reported problems, and is better than any amount of money could buy: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you will wait to choose if I solved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
