Win10 support for PS3 Guitar Hero Drums

Hi there,

I have a Guitar Hero Drum that I connect to the PC via a Red Octane wireless controller.

It used to work on Win 7 but since moving to Win10, I cant get it to work!

Win 10 detects the Red Octane wireless controller as Guitar Hero for Playstation R3. But it does not detect the instrument (drum set). On Win7, when I connect the drums it shows up.

Any help appreciated. I must be a driver issue :)

Thanks

Andy

It must be some incompatibility of windows 10 anyway.

I checked in several forums and websites to find a better resolution but unfortunately I didn't find anything. At least nothing compatible with windows 10

    Hi Marcelo,

I have done everything on that link you provided. I did it on Win7 & Win10.

Works on Win7 but not on Win10. Does not see the drum device on Win10.

    Must be a Win10 driver issue/missing.

    Thanks

    Andy

You're right the link is no longer available, but from what I've been seeing you won't need to enter this site.

Try to enter this link with the tutorial and program links.

    Hi Marcelo,

    Thanks for the quick response.

Re : "Download the latest Guitar Hero World Tour update. The update can be found on the official Red Octane website.", which one are you referring to? Red Octane website is no longer there!

Perhaps you can send me the link?

    Thanks

    Andy

    Hello how are you?

I`m Marcelo de C., an independent Advisor. It is a pleasure to help you today. I know how frustrating it can be for you, but I will do my best to help you :)

Download the latest Guitar Hero World Tour update. The update can be found on the official Red Octane website. The latest update will allow the game to function correctly and give you more opportunity to recognize USB devices.

Configure and connect your battery. Connect and connect the USB wireless receiver to the battery. You need to be using the PS3 or Xbox 360 battery because the Wii battery is not currently compatible with the PC.

Install the necessary drivers. When the battery is connected to Windows, a message may appear asking you to install new drivers for your battery. Click “accept” and install the drivers. Restart your computer, if necessary, so that drivers can be detected.

Download PS360 MIDI Drummer. This program allows the drums to work with Guitar Hero. Install the program and re-synchronize the battery in the wireless receiver.

Download LoopBe1. This software allows the battery to communicate with the PC. Install LoopBe1 and restart your computer. When restarting, click the icon again in the lower right corner of the computer to confirm that the battery is recognized by your computer.

Configure the PS360MIDI program for the battery. Open the program and enter the data for each part of the battery. This takes a little trial and error to find the appropriate sensitivity frequency. The frequency can vary slightly, but generally the numbers are between 30 and 50. Start with 30 for each battery and adjust accordingly.

I hope the information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Have a nice day and stay safe.

    Marcelo de C.
