How to stop this notification "Update virus protection" in Windows Defender?

So now and then I receive a notification to update the virus definitions inside Windows Defender. It looks like this:

I want to stop it as it's really annoying. I know that security updates are very important. So, I want to know a way to either automatically update the virus definitions OR if it's not possible for some reason, just want to disable this notification.

Thanks. 🙂

Isn't there any way to not autmatically update Windows Updates and just automatically update the Windows Defender. Or just disable this notification.

    Hi Kahan,

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this.

Those updates should be installed automatically with Windows 10 Updates.

To turn off those notifications, open the Settings App, then go to System - Notifications and Actions, there you can turn off those.

Also, in the old Control Panel, go to Security and Maintenance, and click Change Security and Maintenance Settings, there is more settings there.

It IS possible to turn off Defender notifications, but you won't get a notification when a malware gets into your device. I recommend not to turn it off.
