    Dear suzzettbeasley

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

1-Go to Control Panel > Program and Features > Uninstall unnecessary software.

2-If there is another drive like D or E, move all of the file from (Download, desktop, Documents, Pictures, Music) to drive D or E.

3-If there is no other drives, you can back up all the data on the external hard drive or upload them to cloud storage.

4-Go to This PC > Right click on it > Properties > Disk Cleanup > Tick all the boxes and clean them.

5-You can also use Treesize which is a free disk space manager for Windows. The software shows you the sizes of folders including all subfolders:

    https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free

After that, you can determine which folder has the biggest size.

6-If there is a partition next to the C drive, you can unallocated it then extend C drive to get more space.

Right click on Start > Disk Management > Take a screenshot and post it back.

Please let me know if you need further assistance and keep me updated.

    Hi

How much space is there in the C: drive? Windows needs 40 to 50 GB, so if you have a C: drive with just 70 GB, it will be full.

    Try performing a cleanup.

    Open Disk cleanup

Select the C: drive and click OK.

    Click on Cleanup system files.

When the scan is done, select everything from the list and click OK > Delete.

How big is the C: drive? How much of it is in use?

Do you have any other drives? How much of each of them is in use?

If you have other drives besides C:, are they separate physicals drives or other partitions on the same physical drive as C:?

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you’re facing low disk space on your PC. I will certainly try my best to assist you with the issue.

Generally, we recommend that you choose a larger capacity device because your local storage and disk space needs may change over time. If you know that you won't have many photos, videos, or other files and apps to save to your device, the 32 GB device might be a good option for you. A good example is a device that you only use to run one small app, or that you only use for online content that never gets downloaded to the local hard drive.

One of the things that we can try is clearing hibernate files and see if it helps in clearing space.

    1. Press Windows + S keys together to open Search
    2. Now type in CMD and right click on it
    3. Select Run as administrator and accept the UAC prompts
    4. Type in the following command and hit Enter:
      powercfg –h off

In addition, you can try deleting the files from Prefetch folder and see if that helps out in clearing space.

    1. Press Windows key + R. This will open Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
    2. In Run dialog box, type prefetchand hit Enter.
    3. Press Ctrl + A keys on keyboard to select all the files
    4. Now press Shift + Delete key to delete the files

Additionally, you can refer the article Free up drive space in Windows 10and see if that helps.

Let us know if you need any further assistance, we will be glad to assist you.

    Regards,
