    Good Day AbhishekD2,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 and a community member like you.

I can feel the urgency to get this fixed, let us work together to sort this out.

First, you need to try to connect you external hard driver using another computer for us to check if the issue is with your computer or the external hard drive itself.

If the external hard driver cannot be detected using a different computer means it is faulty, try to change the USB cable.

If it can be detected using other computer proceed with the steps below.

    -Press Windows key + X

    -Go to Device Manager

-Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controlers

-Look for USB 3.0 Root Hub and USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller

    -Right click and Uninstall

After restart the driver will be automaticallly installed.

Restart your computer and try to connect the the external hard drive, try a different cable or ports.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.

    Hello Carlo,

As I was able to access drive on another computer, there was issue with USB connection.

I was able to download utility software from laptop manufacturer and enabled USB 3.0.

    It works fine now.

    Thanks

    Abhishek

    Carlo,

    Thanks for your quick response.

I do not have USB 3.0 Root Hub and USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller listed under Universal Serial Bus Controllers.

In regards to the External Hard Drive, it gets detected on one of my laptop (when I plug the drive, it says USB Mass Storage under Universal Serial Bus Controllers) while my another laptop does not detect Hard Drive. It does detect every other USB devices.

    Both laptops are Windows 10.

    Thanks

    Abhishek
