Connecting to WiFi but “server not found”

For four days straight now, my laptop (Lenovo yoga, windows 10) has connected to WiFi, worked for thirty seconds, and then stopped loading anything. It will say “server not found” and “hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.”

Here’s a list of everything I have tried:

Switched between networks (work public and work private)

Used my mobile hotspot

Used four different browsers (opera, Firefox, edge, and chrome)

Flushed DNS

Ipconfig

Restarted

Troubleshoot

Charging/not charging

Moving around

My phone will connect to the WiFi and have no problems, so will the work computers around me. This is a private laptop.

Hi Emiljoy, I'm Benedict, an Independent Advisor. I'm here to help you.

Kindly check first if there are pending updates to install in the Windows Update settings. If so, download and install the update(s).

If that doesn't help, then try to diagnose your wireless adapter:

    • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status
    • In the right pane, click Change adapter options
    • Right click on your wireless adapter and select Diagnose
    • Follow the suggested actions, if any.

If that still doesn't help, then try resetting your Network Settings:

    • Open Start Menu
    • Type Network reset and open it
    • Click Reset now button

If the said issue still exists, then try searching for latest network/wireless adapter driver and BIOS update as well from your PC's manufacturer support website. Download them, if any. Install the latest network driver first and if that doesn't sort the issue, then try updating the BIOS by following the guide on how to install BIOS update from the said support website. If BIOS has been successfully updated and the issue still occurs, then try installing the latest network driver again and see if that will now sort the issue.

    Please see if that helps.

    Regards,

    Benedict P.
