Multiple Ryzen 5 3600 Blue Screen Crashes

I bought a new computer about a month ago. It has a RYZEN5-3600 processor.

The system crashes without any warning up to multiple times a day and restarts automatically. There seems to be no pattern that I can see and the Stop Codes are all different.

Here are the Stop Codes I have written down:

   System Thread Extension Not Handled

    dxgmms2

    FLTmgr.sys

   Apc_index_mismatch

   IRQL

   Page Fault in non-page area

What is going on and how can I fix it?

I have the same issue. Replaced everything except the CPU.

When I run a game it doesn’t it do it at all. Kinda weird. So as long as I run steam or any game like that I can leave it on all day with no problems. I’d sure like to fix it but I’m stumped lol

Hi Don891 - did you ever work out what was causing this? I'm in a similar camp on an r5 3600 and get random bluescreens. Who Crashed says driver issues but even a fresh version of windows with only default drivers gets this.

I've tried BIOS changes, firmware changes, drivers galore and nothing is ever different.

I half suspect the CPU itself (memory controller) as I have read a few things on the AMD forum that makes me wonder about the early gen 3600s but I have no way of testing as all memtests and burn ins run with no issues.

    Daduckx99,

No, and I have not done as much research nor am I as experienced as you are, I'm sure.

I have believe I have minimized the number of occurrences using a tool called Restoro. When I do get a bluescreen, I immediately run Restoro. If I have not had any bluescreens for several days I run it any way. This seems to be working to minimize my problem.

Thank you for checking back with me, and if you learn something new, please let me know, and I will do the same.

    Don

    Nikar,

I apologize for the delayed and only partial response to your suggestions. I replied to the email inadvertently. I plan to respond more fully in the coming days.

I have had several crashes since receiving your reply. I had one this morning and am including its minidump link. The bluescreen message for this one was ”Page Fault in non-paged area”.

I was in the middle of editing a word document when this happened. Here is the link.

Here is the answer to your initial questions.

    Here is the second message.

    Nikar,

Here are the minidumps for apparently two crashes that occurred in the middle of the night. I have no idea what my PC was doing at the time. With these crashes, the computer reboots automatically within seconds, so I do not know what the Stopcodes were. Hope to get to the other troubleshooting tasks you recommended today.

    This link has both minidumps.

    Take Care,

    Don

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are receiving Blue Screen error on your computer. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    1. When exactly does the computer crash?
    2. What is the make and model of the computer?
    3. Are you aware of any changes made to the computer prior to this issue?
    4. Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

I would suggest you to share the dump files so that we can analyze them and get to the root cause of the issue. To share the files Navigate to **C:\Windows\Minidump,**upload the files to OneDrive and share the OneDrive link.

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to remove any external devices attached to the computer apart from keyboard and mouse and check if that helps.

I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article Troubleshoot blue screen errors.

I would suggest you try updating the graphics driver and see if that helps. To do this refer the steps mentioned below to update display drivers:

    1. Press Windows logo key + X, and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Display adapters.
    3. Right click on the display driver and select Update Drivers.
    4. Restart the computer if prompted.

Article for reference: Update drivers in Windows 10.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
