Hi all, I noticed for some reason on startup my laptop is running two of the same executable, but on closer inspection on autoruns it looks like they are different somehow. I'm not sure if they were always there since I have bad memory but my audio has always been working fine so I'm assuming I'm ok but I'm curious. What is the difference between these two processes and why are they needed? I believe dolby audio is the only one I really need.

I don't know what ASC is for.

Hi Felix. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP specializing in installation, performance, troubleshooting and activation, here to help you.

Looks normal. The ASC calibrates 5.1 channel sound, while the other handles Dolby.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
