Please select boot device

Hello,

I am facing one major problem with my pc startup. Everytime when I turn on my PC, I'm getting this screen "please select boot device". I need to manually select the " Windows boot manager" option every time to login to my system.

I have tried troubleshooting options, but none of them worked. I have also checked the boot priorities, but there is only one option over there.

Can anyone please help me regarding this issue?

    Hi DHANRAJ,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Boot into BIOS, find the option to apply default settings, then save that and restart your PC.

If that does not solve the problem, go to the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website to check for any BIOS update that may not already be installed on your system.

If that does not solve the popup, how old roughly is your PC?

    Hi DHANRAJ,

I think you should download and install the latest BIOS update on top of the current BIOS version, because your BIOS seems to be corrupt.

If that does not solve the issue, replace the CMOS battery on the motherboard.

    Hi DHANRAJ,

I do not think resetting Windows 10 would solve the problem, because that error occurs before Windows is loaded, it is a BIOS error.

Turn off your PC, then disconnect it form the mains electricity

Press and hold the Power Button on the case of your PC for 30 seconds

    Wait 10 minutes

Then reconnect to the mains electricity and start your PC, and check if that boot option still shows.

    Hii Dave,

    Thanks for your reply!

I have tried both the options, but unfortunately none of them solved the problem. And there isn't any BIOS update as well.

Lastly, talking about my PC, I have purchased it 3 years ago!

Also, I have observed that it's taking more time to boot up than before.

    Waiting for your reply!
