"Problem with wireless adapter or access point" all the time

  • Internet suddenly disconnects all the time (multiple times per hour). The wifi list either disappears or it says "can't connect to this network".
  • It works fine in every other device.
  • Sometimes the laptop can't find any wifi connection.
  • Troubleshoot fixes the problem most of the times. It says it was a "problem with wireless adapter or access point".
  • Sometimes troubleshoot suggests a network reset + restart the computer. That also works.
  • The problem is that I have to troubleshoot *all the time*.
  • Ethernet cable doesn't work at all. It just says "unidentified network". It used to work before.

I have obviously searched this before. Here's some of what I've already tried:

  • I changed battery settings to maximum performance on wireless.
  • Reinstalled drivers
  • Updated drivers. That solved another problem. Before it would just say "can't connect to this network" and troubleshoot wouldn't work. Now it works, it just disconnects all the time.
  • I turned off "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". I have to untick this box all the time, I guess because of the network reset. It doesn't seem to help.
  • Disabled antivirus (Kapersky)
  • Reset router

Thank you for your help. I uninstalled my wifi driver and then installed it again with the installer from your link. (I'll try to fix ethernet later)

    • It worked fine for 20 minutes.
    • "No wifi networks found" after this.
    • Troubleshoot took too long, so I just restarted the computer.
    • Blue screen with error DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE (this happened many times before).
    • Computer restarts, I troubleshoot again, it enables the adapter and it works again. For now

    Good Day Hedder,

I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, how about the Ethernet connection , please try to install the driver using the link I posted and check if the Ethernet connection works.

If issue persist, you might consider to perform clean installation, save all your important files in a external drive to prevent any data lost before you perform clean install.

Here's the link as reference on how to perform clean installation.
