Windows 10 wont install. Error 0x80300024.

After getting a BSOD (CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED) on my pc, windows 10 now refuses to boot. I decided to try and reinstall windows 10 via a USB installation media. However this gives me the error 0x80300024 when attempting to windows 10 onto my SSD. SO far I have tried:

  1. Unplugged my other drives from the motherboard
  2. Putting the USB in different ports
  3. Putting drive at the top of boot list (this option I cannot do since it does not appear in the boot order but does appear in by BIOS under SATA)
  4. Adding partitions to the drive/formatting drive (the option to format or erase is greyed out and when I go to add partitions with the "add" function it doesn't add any and I'm stuck with drive 0 unallocated space)
  5. I've also tried resetting the CMOS which made no difference either.

I'm unsure what else to try. I'm sure my SSD hasn't died since last time I checked it (a week or so ago) using the manufacturer's drive health software it told me it was fine.

Dear Stanton Collyer,

Thanks for getting back to this thread and sorry for the late reply.

Kindly remove all the hard disk connected to the computer and try the SATA cables one by one with the SSD. If it did not work, it would be best to take it back to the store.

Stay Safe

    Dear Stanton,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

As far as I understood your question, you want to perform a clean install on SSD 1 but it does not let you to do that? is that correct?

To fix this issue, kindly try the following steps:

1-If your SSD 1 still has windows 10 installed on it and you can go into windows, download the latest update of firmware and BIOS from the manufacturer's website, then try to update the windows update.

2-Access this link then click on Update Now:

3-Access this link then click on Download tool now:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

    After that Upgrade the system.

4-If your SSD 1 has no windows 10 installed on it, Connect the Bootable USB Stick that you have prepared for performing clean install. Once you get the adding partition window as you mentioned that the format option is greyed out, press F10. The CMD screen will be appeared and then type these commands and hit enter after each command:

    diskpart

    list disk

select disk X (Replace X with the SSD 1 number)

    clean

Close CMD, restart the computer then try to perform a clean install again:

Sure thing. So here are the steps I have. After I have cleaned the drive (through CMD) and then restarted the computer I get to this screen:Image

    From here I press "New"

    Then this appears:
    Image

    I press "Apply"

Then a little window pops upImage

    So I press "Ok"

It loads for a bit and then when it finishes loading it goes back to what is displayed in the first image with Drive 0 Unallocated Space and doesn't create the seperate partitions for the drive (System and Primary). I've pressed refresh and this doesn't solve the problem.

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

I've followed to step 4 since my drive currently doesn't have windows on it (so I've cleaned the drive through CMD). I've gone through to "Where do you want to install Windows?" and on my SSD1 (drive 0) I've pressed "New", "Apply" and then "Okay" which loads for a few minutes. Now what I expected to happen was that it would split the drive into two partitions (System Reserved and Primary) however it hasn't done this and I just have "Drive 0 Unallocated Space". Am I able to install windows 10 to the unallocated space or have I missed a step?
