Windows Education/Enterpise OS Question, no longer student, how do I get into my computer now?

Hello,

I was a graduate student at my university and used my student status to get the Windows Education OS for a new personal computer I built. I am no longer a student or worker at my university and they have closed/locked my account. I am unable to login to my personal computer now and am at a loss for what to do. Is there a way to update my license without having to reinstall a different Windows OS? If I need to install a different windows OS will that erase or overwrite all the files I have? What should my next steps be to be able to use my PC?

There's no such thing as a 'primary' account in Windows. What do you mean to say by making your new account the primary account?

Okay I did all that and have setup another account on my PC using my personal email/microsoft account. Is there a way to make this new account the primary account? I don't have access to my university account that was the initial account I set the PC up with, so is there a way to promote my personal account to be primary?

You will need to purchase a Retail license for Windows 10, since you cannot use the Education license you previously had. Otherwise, in time your computer will lose its activation.

To avoid reinstalling Windows, purchase a license for Windows 10 Professional. It's best to purchase your license directly from Microsoft since that way you can be assured that you are receiving a legitimate license.

Microsoft generally does not permit discounts on the price of Windows, so you may as well purchase your license from Microsoft. Do not be tempted to purchase your license for a deeply discounted price. That's a good sign that the license is illegitimate.

Go to Start menu >Settings > Update & Security > Activation to enter your new product key.

-Hi, my name is Claudeir, I'm happy to help you!

You can test this way, hope it works, so you don't see losing your files.

-Back Windows 10 Enterprise to Windows 10 Pro:

    Disconnect from the internet completely.

    Windows+i> Update & Security> Activation> Change Product Key> enter this generic key:

    VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

    Click Activate Product.

This should revert to the Pro version, if it doesn't work the first time, restart your PC and do it again.

-If it doesn't work, you will have to do a new installation of Windows Home or Pro, as the Enterprise version is not available for the user, and there is no way provided by the system to ''upgrade''. Remembering that you will also have to have a Windows license now.

    Access:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

Click on ''how to use the tool to create installation media'' to know all the steps, then download the tool to install Windows.

-Feel free to leave your opinion, marking as answered if the answer helped, or leaving more details so that we can continue the service, this is very important to us.

    Graciously,

    Claudeir
