    Hi Rigid_429

To reset Sysmain, open the indexing app in Windows 10, then delete the index on your C drive, restart your PC and Windows10 will begin to build a new search index

Also to make the process much more efficient, you should remove the C drive form the list of indexed locations and just add the folders you store your personal data in.

    Hi Rigid_429,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The best option is to disable Sysmain, that is the old SuperFetch process renamed and that service does cause problems, it is part of the indexing service in Windows

Click your Start Button, then just type services and press Enter.

Scroll down to fin Sysmain and double click that service.

If it is started, stop that service, then set its Startup type to Disabled.
