Mouse cursor moving wrong direction (only left right)

So, I've been having this problem for a few months, and I honestly think it's time for a new mouse, but I figured I'd ask around first.

So randomly every now and then, my cursor will start moving in the wrong direction, specifically I move left, and it moves right. When I move up, the cursor moves up, same for down. More recently I've noticed sometimes it will just flick it's self around, but this has only happened a couple of times. The reason I think it's time for a new mouse is because I can rapidly move it from left to right repeatedly for a few seconds, and it will work, or I have to unplug it, restart my PC, and plug it back in.

I've already tried, reinstalling drivers, the software that came with the mouse, and removing the device and adding it again, they have both just been temporary fixes, but because of how infrequently and randomly happens, I can't tell if they prevent it, or just fix it when it occurs.

    Good Day NtsBase,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.

First, you can check the mouse using other device for us to check if the issue is with your computer or the mouse itself.

If it does the same using a different device means that the mouse is faulty, you need a replacement.

if it only happens in your computer proceed with the steps below.

    -Press Windows key + X

    -Go to Device Manager

-Expand the Mice and other pointing device

-Look for Mouse driver that was installed

    -Right click and Update

-Look for "Browse my computer for driver

-Let me pick drivers available drivers

-Choose an old driver and use it.

-Click Start, type Mouse Settings and open it

    -Set your preferred mouse settings.

I hope the information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.
