Now i'd like to know a solution that doesnt involve updating AMD to the lastest drivers, considering the latest drivers breaks unsupported programs such as Blender, due to them not wanting to support the developers.
AMDRyzenMasterDriver Fail after windows updates
Hi,
I have an Eluktronics Matrix RP 15 laptop.
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 4800 with Radeon Graphics, 8 cores
Display: AMD Radeon Graphics, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
I bought this laptop this February and it worked perfectly until April.
After one windows update, it showed a blue screen of:
System Thread Exception Not Handled
what failed: AMDRyzenMAsterDriver.sys
It kept restarting and reached I clicked "Restart Repair" when it reached the advanced restart page.
Then the system undid the windows updates and my laptop worked fine again...
However, I do want to keep my system up to date.
I tried to update several times and this problem keeps happening...
Can anyone help?

2021-07-10T13:58:39+00:00 Hello. I am not a tech, just a user that tinkers.
I have the same problem.
I didn't run into trouble until I enabled hardware security, virtualization, core isolation in prep for windows 11 download. I enabled this recently, within the last week. I do not know if this problem was prior or due to updates on ether Microsoft or AMD's end.
I should note, I do not log in as the administrator normally. I log in as a user and did not experience the problem. The only time I had the error was when logging in as the admin.
Do you have virtualization enabled? I do not have the exact explanation but you cannot overclock and use virtualization at the same time. What I found is that the amdryzenmasterdriver.sys (overclocking utility) was included in both sets of software from AMD.
I was able to troubleshoot it by the following:
AMD software removal tool
Then startup and test: no issue
Install Ryzen Master: Install Graphics software:
I removed Ryzen master and was still having the problem.
I removed the AMD Radeon/Adrenalin graphics software and the problem is resolved.
I can log in and no error. I was able to update the card to the latest driver using the AMD update but chose not to install the Radeon/Adrenalin software. I am up to date with Microsoft and all other software. I just don't use the AMD graphics software.
I do not know how this would affect your system setup using the AMD graphics as your base and NVIDIA as the high performance. Your manufacturer may be able to help.
I have previously used the suggestions as mentioned in the response from Greg Carmack - Windows MVP 2010-2020 before and they are helpful.
This isn't a fix but maybe helpful in understanding the problem, or where else to look for resolution.
good luck!
My system is home made.

2021-06-06T04:35:32+00:00 Hi Kai. I'm Greg, an Independent Advisor.
Update your chipset and all other drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads web page for your exact model. While there check that you also have the latest chipset, BIOS, display, network, bluetooth, USB and all other drivers, compared to the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button.
If that doesn't work then also try AMD autodetect to compare the drivers it finds from it's scan: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/P...
If further problems you can See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem started:
https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=&...
System Restore is your first line of defense and can take you back to a point before a problem began. If it doesn't help then you can undo it. Read about it first in the tutorial above and then try restoring to just before this started. If System Restore is not enabled on C drive do that now so it's available in the future.
If the problem repeats or System Restore doesn't work then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-s...
If this was caused by a Version Update then for 10 days you can roll it back in Settings>Update & Security>Recovery and then hide it until it matures using the Hide Updates Tool which is explained more here:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-s...
Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

2021-07-10T14:15:37+00:00 I just had a similar thing happen. Not used the laptop for a while. After an update on the 07/06/2021 my PC started having a driver issue. I have a Dell with a Nvidia Quadro T1000 which seems to fail & freeze after the update. Shuts the system down & I have to do a hard Reset. Tests the system with no problems after a hard reset.
Trying to get a job with Microsoft in the Windows design Department! But it seems no one will answer my call or my emails or my chats? Uninstalling the update is what fixed mine. Works great now.
