Unable to change Date & Time

For some reason on a Windows 10 system, I can not change the Date and Time.

I have opened Settings > Time & Language >Date & Time. Turned off Set time automatically. Then click Change. Then I selected a different Month.

When I hit Change, the Current date and time changes to my selection, then a few seconds later, it change back to the actual current data/Time.

I have also tried to set this in Control panel. Same result. What the heck am I missing?? Is this a DUH moment?

Oh, yes, I am logged on as an administrator.

    Hi Kevin,

I appreciate the time you spent on this. I got to thinking, and checked the system logs. Lo and behold, I found a log entry that said the time change was initiated by a VirtualBox process.

So I researched that and found a setting to disable the syncing between the host and the client VM.

    Problem Solved.

I have made all the checks stated. Since I've never changed the date on the system, I don't know how long this has been present. I have preformed the repair install. The issue is still occurring.

I don't know if this is a factor, but this OS is running in a VirtualBox VM. My host system, Windows 10 also, does not exhibit this behavior.

    Thank you for the help,

    Doc

    Hi DocEdBrown -

Thanks for the response and I do apologize that it did not fix the issue. Windows running on a virtual machine might be contributing to the issue. I've run out of ideas however since this is a user-to-user forum, let's ask our colleague if they have insights on this.

    Regards,

    Kevin B.
