I am using windows 10 home edition and I just noticed that settings> date time, time synchronization fails when clicked, as attached in the screenshot attached:
I am assuming it's coz. the windows time services is not started which I am unable to start as the options under services> windows time doesn't let me do the same as attached in the screenshot:
Because of this error, some of the website is not allowing me to login as it comes out with some strange error called "tronce is invalid"
Could you please let me know whats the solution for this ?
Thanks in advance and awaiting your response.

Good Day RAJESH,
My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.
Here's the steps you can try.
-Click Start, type CMD and run as administrator
-Copy and paste each of the commands below and hit Enter.
w32tm /debug /disable
w32tm /unregister
w32tm /register
net start w32time
w32tm /config /update /manualpeerlist:"pool.ntp.org time.google.com"
Restart your computer and check the time
I hope the information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.
Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Carlo T.
Hello Carlo,
Good day to you as well.
Clean installation means, all the apps installed will go away right ? If yes, that's a big job.
I am not sure for the purpose of time synchronization getting failed and windows time service unable to start, I have to go in for a clean installation of windows.
However, I am appalled with this route of proceeding for a clean installation of windows. Kindly can you suggest me a simpler work-around or a solution ?
Thanks in advance and await your response.
Thx - G Rajesh
Good Day RAJESH,
I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, have you run the CMD as an administrator? if not please run it as administrator.
If the issue persists, perform Repair Upgrade, it will repair and replace any corrupted system files.
Step 1: Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...
Click “Download Tool Now”
Step 2: Run MediaCreationTool.exe.
Step 3: Choose "Upgrade this PC now".
Step 4: Select "Keep personal files and apps".
Step 5: Let it install
Once done restart your computer and try to change the time.
Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Carlo T.
Hello Carlo,
Thank you for your response. However, as advised by you, when i tried to execute the above commands (CMD) under Administrator prompt, i get "The following error occurred: Access is denied. (0x80070005)" error except for the first command ie w32tm /debug /disable.
Screenshot attached for your reference:
Looking forward for your support.
Thx - G Rajesh
