HP Deskjet 5150 won't work with Windows 10 ??

I just got a new computer an Asus D340M-DH501, it's running Windows 10 64 bit, version 2004, OS build 19041.1288

I had a Acer computer running the SAME version of Windows 10, 64 bit version 2004, I can't recall the OS build. The Acer died.

So I connected the printer up and it's like it isn't there!

But NOW the printer isn't in Windows anymore?

I know this printer works. But is it not available for Windows 10 anymore?

Ok I fixed this and wanted to share HOW I FIXED it. It was simple.

I went into Windows Update. I looked for OPTIONAL updates. I clicked on DRIVER UPDATES and since the HP Deskjet 5150 was plugged in it was there. I clicked for that to install and it worked.

I need this printer to work until I CAN BUY a new printer. Nobody has one in stock!

I don't think I will buy another HP product. I was looking at Brother monochrome laser. I just have to wait until this supply chain stuff is resolved.

But in the future if you see this kind of problem, Have the person check Windows update.

But I tried scanning for printers not on the list. And I get nothing

Please look at this list of supported HP Deskjet printers:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2825606-2452995-16

In that list they give me this:

    Deskjet 5150 Windows in-OS driver

Click on the link and you will see this printer!

Well don't take this the wrong way. But I was using on my Acer Computer, which I got with an AMD A8 processor and it was running Windows 10. So in September it worked in Windows 10.

    Dear Nick_Balandiat,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

This printer does not have any driver for Windows 10 and according to the HP official page, it is only supported by Windows XP and earlier:

    https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00015223

Also, its driver is not available on the HP drivers webpage for Windows 10:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservic...

Please let me know if you need further assistance and keep me updated.
