PROBLEM WITH BITS SERVICE

Anonymous

I am having trouble downloading and installing new updates to my computer. I have run both the Updates and Bits Service troubleshooters, and I get the same error message with each under Detection problems:

Problem with BITS Service: The requested service has already been started.

System.Management.Automation.RemoteException

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG2182. System.Management.Automation.RemoteException

I did find some possible solutions on the Internet, and tried them all. None of them worked, and I still have a problem.

By the way, I have the same issue on both my home (personal) computer, and on my office (business) computer -- two different machines. I just don't understand it. What could the problem be, and how do I get this issue resolved?

Thank you!
