iPhone shows in device manager, but not picked up by iTunes

So I've been trying to connect my iPhone to my iTunes, but whenever i plug it in via the lightning usb cable, I hear the jingle of the connection and go through the trust prompt, but nothing on iTunes. It shows fine in device manager, but according to apple tech there is some driver that's not being installed when I plug it in that should have been installed when well, i plugged it in. So, apple told me to try here and see if anything comes of it, any ideas? Phone and windows 10 pc are both fully updated, and have been restarted with no changes to the issue, tried redownloading uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes from the Microsoft store but no change. even tried different cables. Help would certainly be appreciated! Oh, this is a recent issue say in the last 3 months, before then it worked fine.

Can you try connecting the phone under a different user profile other than your usual account?

Hi, I'm Ru and I'll be glad to help you today.

Can you Update the iPhone driver in Windows PC using the following steps?

Step 1: Disconnect your iPhone from your PC. Then, unlock your iPhone and reconnect it to the PC using your USB cable.

Step 2: Right-click the Start button, then select Device Manager. Next, click Portable Devices so that it expands.

Step 3: Right-click on Apple iPhone (or whatever your PC may call your iPhone). Click Update Driver. Lastly, choose Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software.

Doing this will install new driver software for your iPhone. After it has been installed, open iTunes. It should be able to detect your iPhone now.

Alternatively, if you downloaded iTunes from Apple’s website rather than from the Microsoft Store, you should do the following to update your iPhone driver:

Step 1: Connect your iPhone via USB cable to your PC. Unlock it.

Step 2: Press the Windows + R keys simultaneously, which opens the Run command. In the Run window, enter the following:

    %ProgramFiles%Common FilesAppleMobile DeviceSupportDrivers

Step 3: Click OK. Right-click on either Usbaapl64.inf or Usbaapl.inf. Next, click Install. Lastly, disconnect your iPhone, restart your PC, and reconnect your iPhone before opening iTunes.

    Hello KeelAparadox,

I have had the same issue before, please make sure there is no pending updates as there was a Apple USB driver that had to install for it to work?

If not, please contact Apple support as this is their department.

    Thank you :)

Both the phone and windows show no further updates as I pushed to get the updates last night and installed them to no change. I already spoke with apple for lil over an hour about it today, they said for all intents and purposes it should work, just that one service that should have been installed when plugging in the phone is not showing so they told me to contact Microsoft about it, but failing to find any other way to get support here this question is.
