Hey everyone!

I seem to have a sudden super high spike in RAM usage even though no apps are open. I can't seem to figure out this memory leak. Any ideas? Thank you

    Good Day Lazzy3,

I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, it appears that the anti-malware service and third-party apps are taking most of the usage.

You can visit this link and try these steps.

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

Once done, go to this link and scan your computer to check if there are malwares or rootkits running in your system.

    Here's the link to download.

    https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/10789

Once downloaded and installed, open the app and perform a scan , check for malware infection.

Once the scan is done restart your computer using cleanboot.

    After restart observe the performance.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.

    Hi Carlo,

Thank you for your response. Here is the screenshot of my processes and my Windows is Windows 10 Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.1165), home operating system. Also, I am using a laptop not a Desktop if that makes any difference.

Try removing any dust from the RAM stick slot in the MOBO. And, is the RAM stick loose?

In Task Manager > Startup, if there are many startup programs enabled, disable some of them. Make sure you don't disable any Intel or MOBO programs. I don't know what will happen.

Check for malwares using any of these:

    2. https://bitdefender.com/solutions/free.html

Take a screenshot and post it here.

Also check the Windows version installed in your computer.

    -Press Windows key + R

    -Type winver and hit enter.

It will show you the Windows and build version and post it here.

I'll look forward for your response so that I can provide an accurate recommendation.
