When I only have one tab open in Google Chrome, the Task Manager window will show a number in parentheses anywhere from (10) to (17) next to Google Chrome. Is this normal?

    Hi KayeLK

Thank you for the detailed screenshots, all those processes are legitimate and there is no need to worry, those will not slow down your PC, they will actually make Chrome work quicker.

    Hi KayeLK

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

All web browsers these days are multi threaded, so the whole browser capability is not loaded onto one core on your processor, it is normal to have many processes created for a browser, but 17 processes when having one tab open is excessive

Open Task Manager and select the Processes tab

Right click any column header and turn on the Command Line column

Click the small arrow beside Chrome to expand it and show all sub-processes

Expand the Command Line column as much as possible, then please provide a screenshot of that processes tab

Thanks for your help. Because the command line area is so long I had to expand it and do 3 screenshots. They are labelled 1, 2 and 3 with some overlap in each one. Looks like I can only post one screenshot per reply, so here is #1:
