Skullcandy headset, mic not working via bluetooth

I am having difficulty getting my Skullcandy wireless headset's mic to work on my computer.

When the mic is enabled, it mutes all audio from playing through the headphones. However, even with the mic enabled and set as the default mic, it is not picking up any sound. I know the mic works, I use it constantly connected to my phone.
