Right so, This is only a year old laptop and upon booting, my ram immediately goes up to 74%. I checked my task manager and i have almost nothing that is intensely running in the background.
My pc lets me use up only about 2gb out of the 8gb that it has too. So, right now i have my task manager open and i check the "users" tab, my total ram that i am currently using is about 1gb, but the percentage shows up to 80% used. Any sort of help would be appreciated

Yeah, I don't really see what it using all that RAM there, either. Let's look in Resource Monitor at the Memory tab. Sort it by Commit descending by clicking it in the column header...

    Image

Point to the headers to see what they are...

    Image

Maybe that will tell us more. If the commit is huge, we can then investigate further by preventing the process/app from starting to see what happens to in use memory.

Commit Size can also be added at the Details tab of Task Manager. Right-click any part of the Header, then click "select items" to add it in. Then click the new header item once to sort by it descending...

You've got a 64-bit Windows OS installed, so all 8 GB are usable. And it is getting used. 7.3 GB is in use going by that picture, & 476 MB remain available. I've never seen that much of mine in use. I don't know whether you are running apps that are RAM hogs, maybe a game, or maybe you are are running a virtual machine which sounds like it would use RAM. Does everything run well & fairly quick? If so, you could let it be. Otherwise, an investigation is in order. The pictures you show aren't telling me what is using all of that.

Your RAM is heavily loaded (94%) mostly by different apps. 1.3 GB are used by drivers. Is it possible to add an additional RAM? If not, consider to run less programs (and tabs in browser) simultaneously.

Compare pictures. Processes tab shows only one line of second screen - Process private. That's why you see 2GB on Process tab thous RAMis used by 94 % - this is very high value.
