McAfee Webadvisor won't allow any downloads.

I've had this problem for quite a while now. Every download fails due to "Virus scan failed".

I have tried deleting my cache, updating to the latest version of chrome, using a different browser, deleting all extensions as well as McAfee Webadvisor. I'm also running an up to date version of Windows 10. Nothing seems to work. Please help I have so much work for college :(

    Dear elenafleming,in this case I have a suggestion that might help you;

    Download Revo Unistaller or any uninstaller on another computer or even by mobile phone;

    Transfer the program to your computer using a pendrive with the cell's USB cable;

    Install the program and try to force uninstallation of McAfee's Webadvisor;

    I hope I have helped, see you soon!

    Hi, LuizScruz

    I have tried to uninstall the Webadvisor by McAfee program, but it cannot be uninstalled, at the control panel when clicking uninstall the command does not get executed. I've tried downloading some uninstaller apps, but these cannot be downloaded as McAfee prevents all downloads. Is there an alternative way of force uninstalling a program without downloading an uninstaller?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Matt,

    Yes I've disabled all extensions on my browser. Yahoo didn't replace the chrome search engine.

    Thanks though!

    Dear elenafleming,in that case I recommend trying to access safe mode to try to uninstall the application;

    Press the Windows key, type: msconfig and press Enter;

    Click on System Boot and check the options: Secure Boot and Network;

    Click Apply and restart the PC;

    In safe mode, try uninstalling Webadvisor by McAfee;

    If not possible, try downloading Revo Uninstaller via safe mode and try removing Webadvisor by McAfee;

    I hope I helped, see you soon!

    Dear elenafleming,qual navegador está utilizando?

    Do I get an error when trying to download?

    Initially I recommend downloading Revo Unistaller to completely remove Mcafee and all PC components:

    https://www.revouninstaller.com/pt/start-freewa...

    Make a clean boot:

    Clean boot serves to determine whether a background program is interfering with the system or optimizing system loading.

    1. Press the Windows + R keys, type msconfig and click OK;
    2. In the System Configuration window, click on the services tab;
    3. At the bottom of the screen, check the Hide all Microsoft services box and click Disable all;
    4. Now click on the Startup Programs tab and on Open Task Manager;
    5. When loading the task manager, click on the start tab and disable all non-Microsoft programs (right-click on the program and choose disable), close the task manager and click OK on system configuration and restart computer if requested.

    NOTE: This procedure disables all third party services and programs. You can later, if the problem is solved in this way, selectively enable the programs and services that will start with Windows, instead of keeping all disabled. If the problem returns after activating the startup of a specific service or program, the problem is exactly in the startup of this software and it is recommended to remove it.

    Restart the PC;

    Perform a disk clean:

    Press Windows key + R and type: cleanmgr and press Enter;

    Click Clean system files and wait for the files to load;

    Select all files and click Ok to delete them;

    Check if the problem still persists;

    I hope I helped, see you soon!
